We Are All Just Human: It’s Tough Out There for All of Us. No One Is Ever Alone.

At the Hike with Mike Foundation, we understand that life can be incredibly challenging. Our founder, Mike, has always been open about his own struggles, reminding us that it's okay to talk about the darker days and that there's always someone who cares.

Mike recently shared a deeply personal message about his own tough times:

"If I'm being honest, the last few weeks have been tough. My shine has been well and truly dimmed. I've spent so long trying to help others that I perhaps forgot that I'm human too and have been running on fumes. In fact, beyond fumes; I've been on the side of the road with my hazards flashing, waiting for the RAC.

After the highs of the Y3P, the realities of life set in: the sudden passing of a friend and colleague, my mum getting cancer, my declining dad, the stresses of life, and feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders. It's all really got to me.

So I'm finally practicing what I preach and getting some much-needed rest. We wouldn't wait for our car to run out of juice before refilling it, so why should it be different for us?!

Taking too much on isn't something that should be glamorised, it's just not sustainable. Let's normalise acknowledging when things are tough and doing something about them before it's too late.

Please don't worry about me, I'll be all good. The filthy jokes, cheesy grin, and heart full of love will be back—I promise."

Mike's candid message received an outpouring of support and care, a testament to the power of sharing our struggles as well as our triumphs. It reminds us that self-care is vital, and sometimes, all we need is to express our lows and take time for ourselves.

Remember, it’s okay to feel overwhelmed, to seek help, and to take a break when you need it. We are all human, and no one is ever truly alone. If you’re struggling, reach out to someone who cares. Together, we can support each other through the tough times and celebrate the good ones.

Stay strong, and take care of yourselves. We are here for you, always.
